Health Care Quality

Everyone using our health and social care services should be confident that their experience will be a safe one. To help deliver quality care for all, our work will focus on -

  • Setting standards for the delivery of care.
  • Implementing a programme of quality assurance reviews for hospitals, primary care, general practice and the provision of ambulance services. This will include a standards framework for each of these sectors that incorporates all aspects of quality and service.
  • Monitoring to ensure these standards are being met.
  • Conducting investigations where there is a serious risk to the safety of patients or staff in our health or social care services.
  • Performing a National Hygiene Services Quality Review.
