Accurate and timely information is central to a safe and efficient health and social care system. To help to ensure that high quality health and social care information is available to support the delivery, planning and monitoring of services, our work will focus on:

• Setting standards for all aspects of health and social care information
• Developing guidelines for the collection and use of information in health and social care
• Identifying gaps in health information and making recommendations to fill them
• Making relevant information about our health and social care services available to the public

The National Steering Group on Health Information Standards make recommendations to the Authority in respect to HI Standards.
