Araglen House Nursing and Convalescent Centre

Condition 1
The centre is primarily for the accommodation of dependent older persons, aged 65 years or over;

Condition 2
No person under the age of 18 years may be accommodated at the centre at any time regardless of medical condition;

Condition 3
Both male and female persons may be accommodated at the centre;

Condition 4
Subject to compliance with conditions 10 and 11 below, the maximum number of persons who may be accommodated at the centre is 54 with a maximum of 10 persons to be accommodated in the dementia specify unit;

Condition 5
That accommodation can be provided to people with dementia;

Condition 6
That accommodation cannot be provided to people with acquired brain injury for long-term care;

Condition 7
That accommodation cannot be provided to people with intellectual disabilities for long-term care;

Condition 8
That accommodation cannot be provided to people under the age of 65 years with physical disabilities for long-term care;*

Condition 9
That accommodation can be provided to residents under the age of 65 years for respite, convalescent or palliative care;

Condition 10
That the registered bed occupancy of 54 is brought into operation on a phased basis as from the registration date;

Condition 11
That the phasing of the bed occupancy referred to in Condition 10 must be (a) in accordance with a schedule to be agreed with the Chief Inspector and (b) is subject to the prior written approval of the Chief Inspector as to each proposed increase in bed occupancy.

Condition 12
Continued registration is conditional on payment in time and in full of all relevant fees or charges payable under the Act and Regulations made thereunder;

Condition 13
The expiry date of this registration is three years from the date of issue of the Certificate of Registration. “Disability”, for the purposes of these conditions, means a substantial restriction in the capacity of the person to carry on a profession, business or occupation in the State or to participate in social or cultural life in the State by reason of an enduring physical, sensory, mental health or intellectual impairment, as defined in the Disability Act, 2005, but excludes for the purposes of these conditions, dementia.
