Good Nutrition plays a key role in active, successful, healthy aging. Adults in residential care are amongst the most vulnerable older persons as they have little control over their diet, may be frail and need help with eating. Food and nutrition is a key aspect of dignity in care provision to older persons. Good nutritional care, adequate hydration and enjoyable mealtimes are crucial to maintaining the health, well being and independence of older people.
This self-assessment questionnaire is a resource to help people providing residential services for older people to prepare for inspection, to measure their performance against regulations and standards, and to identify ways in which they can improve their service.
