HIQA has undertaken an international best practice review on information modelling outlining the approach to information modelling that countries have taken, the governance structures in place to support information modelling activities and the international standards used to implement models.

The findings from the best practice review will inform the evidence base for a set of recommendations to the Minister for Health on the development on an information model for the collection, use and sharing of health information in Ireland.
