Our Legal Mandate

The Health Information and Quality Authority (the Authority) derives its mandate from, and undertakes its functions pursuant to, the Health Act 2007 and other relevant legislation (the Child Care Act, 1991 and 2001, the Children Act, 2001, Education for Persons with Special Educational Needs 2004 and the Disability Act 2005).

Our Annual Reports which outline the work of the Authority on a yearly basis, are presented in keeping with the statutory requirements of the Health Act 2007, and includes the Authority’s arrangements for implementing and maintaining adherence to the Code of Governance for public bodies.
