We want to hear your feedback on the draft national procedures.

Having completed a comprehensive review of the available literature and undertaken extensive stakeholder engagement including a scoping consultation and focused consultation to inform the development of draft national procedures, HIQA is now holding a public consultation from 19 June 2023 to 31 July 2023. This public consultation gives people the opportunity to provide feedback on the draft national procedures and become involved in the development process by submitting their views to us.

As these national procedures will apply to a wide range of organisations that provide medical exposures to ionising radiation, such as hospitals, medical imaging centres and dental practices, we welcome feedback from everyone who works for these organisations, people that use these services and their families, patient advocates and members of the public.

Interested parties are asked to review the draft procedure and provide us with any comments or additional information they feel are pertinent.

The consultation period will last until 31 July 2023.

The easiest way to give your feedback is to complete the online survey here.

Or complete a PDF version of the consultation form available below, and e-mail the completed consultation form to radiationprotection@hiqa.ie.

The deadline for receipt of submissions is 5pm on Monday, 31 July 2023.

Following this consultation, the prodcedure will be updated as necessary based on the feedback received.

More details can be found in the press release linked at the top of the page.
