As the situation in Ireland in regards COVID-19 continues to evolve on a daily basis, HIQA’s priority remains the safety and wellbeing of people using services and our own staff. 

We urge the public, people who use services and their relatives, service providers, and staff to follow all public health advice from the HSE as the primary source of information and guidance on COVID-19. The latest advice and updates are available on www.hse.ie.  

HIQA is represented on the National Public Health Emergency Team, and, as such, has been assisting national planning and coordination efforts. Through ongoing representation on this Team and its associated subgroups, HIQA will continue to contribute to national efforts to address the emerging challenges presented by this virus.

Any decisions regarding our work and programme of inspections will be informed by the emerging circumstances, public health advice and the health and welfare of people using services and our staff in mind.
