Today the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) has published 21 inspection reports into residential centres for adults and children with disabilities.

Today’s reports include 15 full -18 outcome inspections; one of which was unannounced.

Two reports published are for centres provided by Sunbeam House. Inspectors found these centres to be non-compliant with three major non-compliances each.

Three reports relate to services run by the Cheshire Foundation. A large number of major non-compliances were found in two of these centres in relation to Social Care Needs and Governance and Management.

Two centres provided by Western Care were found to be compliant with the regulations and standards.

Five services run by COPE Foundation, G.A.L.R.O. Limited, Gateway Organisation Limited, Kerry Parents and Friends Association, St Catherine's Association Limitedalso have major non-compliances in areas such as Governance and Management, Workforce, Premises and Medication Management.

The remaining nine reports, into eight designated centres across the country, show evidence of good practice where the provider is successfully meeting the needs of residents.
