The registered provider of The Martin Hospital, Queen Street, Portlaw, Co. Waterford has notified the Authority that it is not proceeding with an Appeal pursuant to Section 57 of the Health Act 2007.

The appeals were against the decisions of the Acting Chief Inspector of Social Services of the Authority to:
1) refuse the registered provider’s application for registration pursuant to Section 50 of the Health Act 2007 and
2) cancel the registration of the registered provider of The Martin Hospital pursuant to Section 51 of the Health Act 2007.

The registered provider is not proceeding with its Appeal against the decisions of the Acting Chief Inspector of Social Services and has consented, in accordance with Section 64 of the Health Act 2007, to the Health Service Executive taking charge of The Martin Hospital from 3.00pm on 3 May 2012 and making alternative arrangements for the residents of The Martin Hospital as soon as practicable.
