This report covers the protected disclosures received by HIQA from 1 January to 31 December 2025.
In general terms, a protected disclosure is made when a person or worker discloses certain information in relation to a potential wrongdoing to a particular person in a particular way.
As set out under the Protected Disclosures Act 2014, as amended, each public body is required to publish an annual report outlining the number of protected disclosures received in the previous year and the action taken (if any).
