The purpose of this guide is to provide an understanding of the Health Information and Quality Authority’s (HIQA) 2019 consolidated approach to monitoring compliance with the National Standards for the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections in acute healthcare services to ensure patient safety in the prevention and control of infection in acute hospitals.
