The aim of the Research Gaps Register is to describe and highlight gaps in primary research identified during evidence synthesis for health policy. The register aims to potentially reduce research waste and increase research efficiency by serving as an evidence-based resource for researchers and research funders, and by shortening the timeline from evidence gap identification to research action.
Each gap serves as a snapshot from the date that evidence synthesis was conducted, and researchers or organisations are encouraged to confirm the currency of identified gaps. The register is updated as new gaps are identified. Researchers and funders are encouraged to consult the register and contact cicer@hiqa.ie for further queries or submissions.
